It is a day to honour the resilience\, achievements\, and contributions of Black communities while reflecting on our shared history and continuing the work toward equity and justice. \nAbout the Event\nJoin the London Black Heritage Council\, Fanshawe Pioneer Village and our community partners for a day of celebration\, education\, and connection as we commemorate Emancipation Day. \nEnjoy a full day of live entertainment\, cultural performances\, guest speakers\, local vendors\, community organizations\, food\, and the annual parade while learning about the history and significance of Emancipation Day in Canada. \nWhether you’re attending with family\, friends\, or on your own\, there’s something for everyone. \nEvent Highlights\n\nSpecial presentation by Dr. Natasha Henry-Dixon\nLive music and cultural performances\nPoetry and spoken word\nAnnual Emancipation Day Parade\nFood vendors\nLocal Black-owned businesses\nBlack-led community organizations\nFamily-friendly activities\nOpportunities to learn about Black history and culture\n\nTransportation\nFree transportation will be available from the Argyle mall LTC Hub to Fanshawe Pioneer Village during event hours.
