Jackie Shane was a prominent\, pioneering Black trans woman\, soul singer\, who played Toronto clubs in the 1960s\, making appearances in London.\n\nThis evening features special guest queer rights advocate\, community leader\, and founder of The Rainbow Community of Canada\, Naomi Nadea\, who speaks to Shane’s fearlessness\, courage\, and talent in paving the way forward. Zahra McDoom\, TD Curator of Collections\, highlights Shane’s connection to our city. This story reflects the creativity\, resilience\, and enduring impact of Black performers and trailblazers who helped shape our nation’s cultural landscape.\n\nThis film is provided courtesy of the National Film Board of Canada.\n\nCost: Free\, suggested donation of $10
