DESCRIPTION:Kay Livingstone Scholarship\nThe Congress of Black Women of Canada – London Chapter is pleased to offer the Kay Livingstone Scholarship to graduating Black students pursuing post-secondary education. \nNamed in honour of Kay Livingstone\, a London-born advocate for social justice and educational opportunity\, this scholarship recognizes students who have demonstrated academic achievement\, community involvement\, and leadership. \nEligibility Criteria\nApplicants must: \n\nBe a 2026 graduate of the Ontario Secondary School system\nBe accepted into the first year of study at a Canadian post-secondary institution\nDemonstrate strong academic achievement and volunteer/community involvement\nReside in London\, Middlesex County\, or the surrounding area\n\nApplication Requirements\nApplicants must submit: \n\nA completed scholarship application form\nA one-page typed essay explaining why they should be selected\nTwo letters of recommendation (one from their school and one from an extracurricular/community organization)\nAn original transcript of grades\nProof of acceptance to a recognized Canadian College or university\n\n \nGwen Jenkins Adult Scholarship\nThe Congress of Black Women of Canada – London Chapter is proud to offer the Gwen Jenkins Adult Scholarship to support Black adult learners pursuing or continuing post-secondary education. \nThis scholarship recognizes mature students who have demonstrated commitment to their education\, community involvement\, and personal growth while working toward their academic and career goals. \nEligibility Criteria\nApplicants must: \n\nIdentify as Black\nBe a mature student pursuing or continuing post-secondary education\nBe a Canadian citizen or permanent resident residing in London\, Middlesex County\, or the surrounding area\nBe enrolled in a diploma or certificate program at an accredited Canadian university\, college\, or vocational/technical institution\nNot have previously received a Congress Scholarship\n\nApplication Requirements\nApplicants must submit: \n\nA completed scholarship application form\nAn essay describing why they are a worthy recipient\, including community involvement\, volunteer activities\, academic achievements\, accomplishments\, and future goals\nTwo letters of reference\nProof of registration in a recognized university\, college\, or vocational/technical institution\n\nCompleted applications and supporting documents should be submitted by email to: education.london@cbwc-ontario.org \nPlease refer to the application package for complete eligibility requirements and submission details.

DESCRIPTION:Congress of Black Women Tea Party\nJoin the Congress of Black Women of Canada – London Chapter for their Steeped in Strength Tea Party\, an afternoon dedicated to celebrating community\, scholarship\, and empowerment. \nThis special event brings together community members\, supporters\, and scholarship recipients for an elegant tea experience featuring refreshments\, entertainment by world-renowned performer Lorraine Klaasen\, and scholarship presentations recognizing the achievements of Black students in our community. \nGuests are encouraged to embrace the spirit of the occasion by wearing fascinators\, hats\, gloves\, and bringing their favourite tea cup set. \nAll proceeds from the event will support the CBWC London Chapter Scholarship Program\, helping to create educational opportunities for future generations. \nDate: July 5\, 2026 \nTime: 4:30pm \nLocation: River Room\, Museum London \nYou are invited to join for an afternoon of connection\, celebration\, and support as we honour the strength\, resilience\, and accomplishments of our community.
